FTL - FULL TRUCKLOAD SHIPPING

blue grace logistics

BlueGrace® Logistics' strong relationship with our network of Full Truckload carriers provides a wide range of services to our customers. By integrating our truckload process with our logistics and transportation technology, we can also offer you our BlueShip™ managed Transportation Management System (TMS) software, to simplify the truckload process and reduce your overall costs.

What is FTL?

»»» Shipments larger than 15,000 lbs. and less than 45,000 lbs. are typically classified as "full truckload" (FTL) or "truckload" (TL). FTL shipments usually travel as the only shipment on a trailer and are delivered on the same trailer that picks them up. TL's can be shipped on either common carriers or with independent trucking companies.

How does FTL pricing work?

FTL prices are based upon a rate per mile cost, with each load having a minimum charge. This rate per mile cost is determined by shipping and destination locations, and depends upon the different freight concentrations across the country as well as the carrier's deadhead mileage from its last delivery. Many other factors also contribute to pricing.

LEARN MORE

*** There are several truck types associated with FTL services. We are focusing here on standard trucks and dry vans, but you can find information about the other types, including flatbeds and reefers, at our Other Freight Services page.

*** The specifications for each truck type, including dimensions and weight requirements, can be found here:
