OTHER FREIGHT SHIPPING SERVICES

blue grace logistics

BlueGrace® Logistics manages transportation for a wide range of transportation modes in the logistics and freight shipping industry. While we focus on LTL and Truckload shipments that represent the predominant portion of overall shipping, we have relationships with carriers handling a variety of other freight shipping services. Our leading-edge technology is available for each of these services, as BlueShip™ is a full-service transportation management system.

BlueGrace Logistics is able to offer these other freight shipping services:

Rail and Intermodal Shipping

Intermodal shipping is the use of multiple modes of transportation to move a shipment, without handling of the freight itself when changing modes. This type of shipping normally includes the use of both standard trucks and rail, while sometimes including ships. This method of

transportation can help to reduce handling, while also helping to improve security and reduce the possibility for damages. Rail, which normally requires intermodal to get the shipment to and from the rail station, is normally a lesser cost than standard trucking, but will also lead to extended transit times.

Flatbed and Drop Deck Shipping

Flatbeds and drop decks come in a variety of sizes and features to meet the needs for all customers, although all trucks come flat and with no sides or roof. These variations include different heights, lengths and actual trailer construction, allowing all

customers to ship their items across the country, while still meeting the necessary state and national laws and regulations. A range of added services are available with these types of trucks, including tarps, straps, escorts, permits and much more. Flatbeds and drop decks follow much of the same trends as truckloads in terms of pricing and are subject to the same transit time restrictions.

Reefer or Refrigerated Shipping

Refrigerated shipping, also known as Reefer shipping, is used to keep perishable goods in a temperature controlled environment while being shipped. While most trucks are set to a single temperature, these temperatures can vary from frozen to simply cold

transport. This shipping service is used for both Truckload and LTL shipping, and follows the similar process and restrictions as the related mode.
