BlueGrace Client Spotlight

Bufkor Incorporated (www.bufkor.com) traces its origins to 1895 when it was founded as Buffalo Jewelry Case. In 1956, after merging with William Korn Display, they became Bufkor Inc. - the leading design innovator and source of Jewelry Display and Packaging products. Bufkor continues to manufacture the finest jewelry packaging, displays, bags and promotional products in the industry.
Bufkor is part of SigmaQ, a vertically-integrated conglomerate employing over 3,500 people in more than a dozen countries. Their products are manufactured entirely in their own production facilities. Their Design Department has over 45 years experience and continually supplies cutting-edge designs for POP displays, showcase interiors, displays for retail stores, travel cases, wood, fabric and paper packaging and promotional displays for the most demanding customers.
The products Bufkor manufactures are used by companies like Saks Fifth Avenue (USA), Mikimoto (Japan), Harrods of London (UK), Carrera & Carrera (Spain) and Goldsmith Group (UK). These and other customers have relied on their fine wooden accented displays and hand-crafted wooden jewelry presentation boxes for their most important pieces.
BlueGrace Logistics has been helping Bufkor with their shipments since January 2008. Due to the fact that BlueShip (BlueGrace's state of the art Transportation Management System or TMS) is web based, it allows Bufkor's manufacturing plant in El Salvador to create shipments there, label the pallets for LTL before loading into a container bound for Miami, and issuing to BlueGrace for processing. Upon arrival in Miami and container de-consolidation, we book the shipments from our corporate office and carriers distribute the products throughout the US. Our technology allows the majority of the processing to take place before material ever leaves their plant in El Salvador! It also provides to Bufkor Management full visibility from shipment creation through final delivery to their customers.
Finally, BlueGrace audits the carrier invoice by comparing the actual carrier charge to the rate that is shown in BlueShip, which is done automatically via electronic means. Only those invoices which do not match are retained for further review. Those which do match are automatically processed for payment removing numerous administrative hours by not having to review each invoice.
